This policy explains what personal data LADATAVIZ SL collects through ladataviz.com and through our tools, why, and what rights you have. We keep it short and specific: if something is not listed here, we do not collect it.
The short version
- Your Tableau and Figma data stays with you. Our Viz Extensions draw charts in your browser from the data already in your worksheet. Figma to Tableau builds your workbook in the plugin. We never receive, log or store that data.
- Licence checks use pseudonymous IDs. To count users and validate licences, our tools send a licence key and an anonymous user ID provided by Tableau or Figma.
- No analytics without consent. Google Analytics only runs if you accept it in the cookie banner.
- We never sell your data or use it for advertising.
Who is responsible
The data controller is LADATAVIZ SL (CIF B22470397), C/ Carles Cervera 14, 46006 Valencia, Spain. For any privacy question or request, write to legal [at] ladataviz.com.
What we collect, and why
Viz Extensions
Extensions only access the aggregated data that Tableau passes to the worksheet they are placed in. They do not connect to your data sources, and the chart is rendered entirely in the browser. None of that data is sent to us.
Paid extensions check their licence with our server. Each check sends the licence key (and
order number on activation), Tableau's uniqueUserId, which is a pseudonymous
identifier generated by Tableau that does not reveal the person's name or email, the type of
environment (Desktop, Server, Cloud or Public) and the mode (viewing or authoring). We store
the user ID, environment and date against the licence to count monthly users and prevent
misuse. These entries are reset every month (or kept up to 180 days on older plans). We do not
store IP addresses in our licensing database.
Free extensions from the Tableau Exchange are hosted by Tableau. Enterprise on-premise installations make no calls to our servers at all.
Legal basis: performance of the licence contract and our legitimate interest in preventing licence misuse.
Figma to Tableau plugin
Your designs are processed inside the plugin and are not sent to us. To manage free exports and licences, the plugin sends your Figma user ID and Figma user name. We store them with your licence key, activation date and the number of free exports used.
Legal basis: performance of the licence contract.
Free web tools
AdvViz, Theme Generator, Filter Manager and our other web tools run in your browser. Files you load into them are processed locally and are not uploaded to us.
Purchases
Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record, collects your payment details and acts as an independent controller under its own privacy policy. We never see your card details. Lemon Squeezy shares with us your name, email, country, company and VAT number if provided, order details and licence keys, which we use to deliver licences, provide support and keep our accounts. For invoiced orders, we also hold the billing details on your invoice.
Legal basis: performance of the contract and our legal obligations (accounting and tax).
Your LaDataViz account
If you create an account to use BANg or Filter Manager, we store your email address and a password managed by Google Firebase Authentication (we never see the password itself). We use your email to find the licences linked to it in Lemon Squeezy.
Legal basis: performance of the contract.
Contact form and emails
When you use our contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address and message, and use them only to reply and follow up on your request.
Legal basis: steps taken at your request before a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering you.
Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, your email address is stored by Beehiiv, which sends it. Beehiiv records opens and clicks to give us aggregated statistics. You can unsubscribe with one click from any email.
Legal basis: your consent.
Website analytics
If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics measures how the site is used (pages visited, approximate location, device type). If you reject them, Analytics stays off. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. Details are in our Cookie policy.
Legal basis: your consent.
Technical data
Like any website, our hosting provider processes your IP address and browser information to deliver pages and protect the site against abuse. Our pages also load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
Who we share data with
We use a small number of providers, who only process data on our instructions:
| Provider | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Netlify | Website and extension hosting, licence API, contact form | USA |
| Google Firebase | Accounts and licence database | USA / EU |
| Google Analytics | Website statistics (with consent only) | USA |
| Beehiiv | Newsletter | USA |
| Lemon Squeezy | Checkout, payments, invoicing (independent controller) | USA |
Transfers outside the European Economic Area are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, or by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. We may also disclose data when required by law.
How long we keep data
- Licence records (licence key, order number, Figma user ID and name): for as long as the licence exists, so it keeps working and can be renewed or restored.
- Tableau user IDs used to count monthly users: replaced every month (up to 180 days on older plans).
- Account email: until you delete your account or ask us to.
- Contact requests and emails: as long as needed to follow up on your request.
- Invoices and accounting records: 6 years, as required by Spanish commercial law.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
You can ask us to delete any of this at any time, except what we must keep by law.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, or withdraw your consent at any time. Write to legal [at] ladataviz.com. We answer within one month.
Licence checks only hold pseudonymous IDs, so to act on them we may ask for your licence key or the Tableau or Figma account concerned.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can file a complaint with the Spanish data protection authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, or with the authority of your country.
Security
Our Viz Extensions were reviewed by Tableau as part of its Trusted Partner programme. Data is encrypted in transit, access to our systems is limited to the two founders, and we collect the minimum needed to run our licences.
Changes
We will update this page when our practices change and show the date of the latest version at the top.
